Since the time the President Benigno “Noynoy” III Aquino sat on being the ultimate leader of the Philippines, everything else in the administration seem to have turned upside down. In an effort to erase even the smallest traces of the Gloria administration, the current president exercised the power and authority he ought to use. Some powerful people were demoted while others were put to position. The country’s money designs were changed, thus, removing Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on the back side of the 200-peso bill. Even the use of “wang-wang” was prohibited – a small sign that shows a big difference in the Pnoy administration.
While most people think that everything will be changing for the better, others see that there’s something that still lacks on the president’s main focus. Is Pnoy really planning to create a big project that will be of a good impact in the lives of the Filipino people? Currently, what many people see is President Noynoy Aquino is more focused in eliminating the “bad apples” in the government. There is no mercy and demotion will follow when a government official is proven guilty. If you will look back on the past administration, you will notice that Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s projects are more focused in infrastructure development. Well, the two administrations are completely different and President NoyNoy seem to have the decision not to follow some of the plans of the previous president.
One of the projects that GMA might have continued should she extended another term is the North Rail project. The project will be a train that consist of six stations which are: Caloocan, Valenzuela, Marilao, Bocaue, Guiginto and Malolos. This will be of great help to people traveling to the North. New train set are supposed to be purchased in China and Japan will also donate second-hand trains. Many people became impressed with the project, especially when the clearing operations in Malolos started. However, there had been no updates about the development of this project since then and up to the Noynoy administration. What could be the problem? But if this project will materialize and won’t be halted from its development, a lot of people will benefit from it.
This project might have stopped or is just not the focus of media nowadays but one thing’s for sure, it’s clearly not the current administration’s focus. Maybe for a reason that every leader has his own style of developing his country. It just happened that Pnoy is more into fixing the ill system of the government before he goes to bigger projects like infrastructure. Besides, investors are also one of the factors that should be considered, as well as the budget.
Despite and inspite the 180-degree turn of decisions and systems, let’s just hope that the changes applied are for the better. All Filipinos can do is to wait. After all, that’s what we have been doing ever since, right?
